Sharpie Heart
Gabe twisted his arm, contorting it in a way that for any other person it would not be comfortable. But, as a result of contorting his arm in such a way, his hand got to be threaded through William’s- and in Gabe’s mind, it was worth it.
Smiles were exchanged as they slowly whispered. It’s not that they really needed to whisper, it simply made Gabe and William feel like they were in their own little world; just them. And, hell, they were- it was Gabe and William.
“What’s so special about my hair, Gabe?” William muttered while throwing in a laugh. Gabe’s other hand was slowly brushing through William’s hair, unexpectedly, causing William to ask such a question.
“It’s yours.” Gabe whispered. And, that’s all Gabe really needed to say, because William understood immediately.
“Do you know what’s yours though?” William smiled, and grabbed his hand.
“What?”
“This.” William entangled Gabe’s hand from his hair, and brought it to his bare chest, lying right above his heart. “This is your property, Gabe.” William laughed.
Gabe smiled as much as he could without looking like an entire psycho. Though even if he did, William wouldn’t care. William liked every bit of psycho in Gabe. Gabe lifted his hand up and reached into his pocket, ripping something out of his tight jeans. “Shut your eyes, William.”
William shut his eyes and laughed nervously, mosty out of fear of what exactly Gabe had pulled out of his pocket; because this was Gabe Saporta, he could have anything in his pocket.
William felt the cool, somewhat wet sensation of something thin and pointed being brushed across his chest- right where Gabe’s hand was before. William couldn’t help but let out the giggles that escaped him; William was a little ticklish.
“Done.” Gabe announced, proud. He looked down at his work of art and blew on it, just making sure it was perfect. William looked down at his chest, seeing a weird shape of some sort and some writing. William desperately wished he could read upside down right now, not wanting to get up, and leave Gabe’s arms.
“What is it?” William asks.
“It’s a heart, or at least I attempted to draw a heart, you know how I suck at drawing. And it says Property of Gabe Saporta.” Gabe smiled proudly again.
“Gabe..” William laughed. “As much as I do believe that my heart is indeed your property, I’m sorry to tell you, that this is just going to wash off when I have a shower.”
“Well then, every day, I’ll re-draw it on you, just to remind you..” Gabe announced, obviously thrilled with his silly plan.
“You don’t need to draw it, to remind me..” William whispered. “It will always be yours, as long as you want it..”
“William, I’ll always want it. I’ll take it wherever I go; whatever I do. It will experience the things I experience. And every day, that you aren’t with me, I’ll know that I have the most important part of you, to keep me company.”
* * *
That day, William sang his heart out- literally. The remains of the poorly drawn heart lingered on his chest; sort of looking like large gray bruise; the water had smudged it all together. But William didn’t worry about the faded, smudged heart on his chest- he knew that the heart inside his chest would be safe with Gabe, forever.
